Asian grocery stores and supermarkets stock ingredients, snacks and household goods that general American supermarkets often do not carry, organized by category rather than by country of origin in most stores. Produce and live or fresh seafood sections are usually at the back or side of the store, and weekend mornings bring the largest crowds and freshest restock. Many larger Asian supermarkets include a hot deli or food court counter selling prepared meals by the pound or as fixed plates, useful for a quick lunch while shopping. Labels are frequently bilingual or untranslated, so store staff can usually help locate a specific ingredient if you ask. Cash, cards and mobile pay are all commonly accepted at larger chains; smaller specialty shops may be cash-preferred.

Bronx is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Bronx follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

As a regular customer of Al Aqsa Grocery in Sterling, Bronx, I am extremely disappointed by this experience. On June 25, 2026, I purchased a food product that had expired in November 2025β€”more than 7 months past its expiration date. Selling expired food is unacceptable and poses a serious health risk. Many customers in our Bangladeshi community trust the store and don’t always check expiration dates because they expect the products on the shelves to be safe. That trust should never be taken for granted. Expired food should be removed from the shelves, not sold at a discount. I hope the management takes this seriously, improves inventory checks, and ensures no other customers unknowingly purchase expired products. I will be much more careful before shopping here again, and I encourage everyone to check expiration dates before buying.

It’s June 09,2026. Around 12:30pm I went to do my grocery at this store. The mangoes by the front door caught my attention. it said Dominican Mango, 7 pieces in one box 11.99 was the price. When I picked one or two mangoes, I saw those are rotten. So I started to dig through the boxes and looking for good ones. Suddenly one of the workers started making fuzz on me, saying I can’t choose to mix and match. So I started arguing and then the argument got heated up, he said so many things life, β€œYou are new in this country, you don’t know how to shop on Bangladeshi grocery, I paid myself for this mangoes, these are all out of my pocket!” things like that. Then I thought of dropping that argument and I entered into the store without taking the mangoes. Then after picking up my necessities when I went to the cashiers I told them about the situation and after the conversation the cashier said that let it go and take the mangoes that they have inside of the store by the vegetables. This time the price was 12.99 for 7 pieces. I again saw the same rotten type of condition on those mangoes, so I again mixed and matched. Then I paid and on my way out again that old guy got started, I just lost

Very disappointed with the pricing policy. In-store, they sell 1 lb of tomatoes for $1.99, but on Uber Eats they sell just 1 single tomato for $1.99. When I called to ask why there was such a huge difference, they explained it was because of Uber commissions. But as a customer, this does not really make sense. We already pay service fees, delivery fees, and other charges through Uber Eats, yet the products themselves are also heavily marked up compared to the store price. I understand businesses need to cover costs, but charging the price of 1 lb in-store for just 1 tomato on the app feels excessive and misleading. Customers should pay attention to these price differences and not get scammed.

I always go here for groceries and fish and meats. This is probably the only grocery where you can go inside the fridge and choose you own vegetables from the fridge. The stuffs are extremely polite and helpful. Such a great shop. The price is also very reasonable and perhaps some items you can get here cheaper than other groceries near by. Do not think twice, come here and shop. They also had house hold items in the basement
